FAQ

Just in case you didn't know, YOU ARE AWESOME! God has made you perfectly and wonderfully in every way! There is no one else like you in this whole world. We are all incredibly different but we have one thing in common, we were all made by the same Creator and He didn't make any mistakes! What does that have to do with FAQ you ask? Nothing, we just wanted to remind you how special you are! Now that we have that established we hope this page will answer some or all of the questions you might have about our Church.

-What should I wear?

What you have on right now is fine with us. Well… unless you just got out the shower…. But seriously – on a Sunday morning at OOCC you will see everything from shorts and jeans to dresses and suits. We are much more interested in YOU than your clothes! We do ask that you cover everything that should be covered and that you dont wear anything with obscene language or political / social agendas on them. Other than that, put on whatever you are comfortable in and come on!

-How long do the services last?

The weekend services at OOCC typically last an hour to and hour and 15 minutes.

-Will I be singled out in any way as a visitor?

At OOCC, you’ll never be put on the spot, never feel forced to give money, and never embarrassed. You don’t have to sign anything or register your attendance in any way. We do have "Guest Cards" that ask for some information about you but it is completely your choice whether you fill one out. It is our hope that you will so that we can follow up with you after your visit but again, that is up to you.

-What kind of music will I hear?

At our Sunday morning service you will a hear a blend of the old (but great) traditional hymns as well as some of the newer contemporary songs. Sunday night sevice is mostly consists of the newer praise songs and usually a little bit louder. We do offer earplugs to anyone who is hearing sensitive. With that being said, we dont focus so much on what style to play as much as WHO it is played for!! The songs we sing are ALWAYS about Jesus so we strive to make sure that whatever the style and volume that is done well and respectful and reverently.

-Are you handicap accessible?

YES! We have handicap parking in our upper parking lot around the Church building directly by the entrance that is located under the Fire Escape stairway. Once you come in that door just follow the hallway to the end (right paight past the bathrooms) and turn right. At the end of that hallway look to your right and you will see a wheelchair elevator that will take you right up into the santuary.

-Do you serve communion?

Yes. Old Orchard practices “open communion”.  If you are a follower of Jesus you are welcome to participate in communion.

Communion is offered each week during our weekend services.  The elements (represented by grape juice and a small piece of bread) are passed down each row in trays.  Participants are asked to take a small juice cup and cracker and hold onto them until we take them together.  If you do not wish to participate in communion for any reason, please do not feel any pressure to do so.  Simply pass the communion tray to the next person.  You will not be singled out or made to feel uncomfortable.
