Joey Kennedy
Lead Pastor
I had no idea when I moved into the dorms at Kentucky Christian College
(university now) in the fall of 1989 that I would ever be in a ministry position much less a preaching minister!! I also had no idea that just a few weeks from that move in date I would meet the love of my life!! I couldn't be more grateful for both of these things becoming reality! I have now been married to Kari for 27 years and we have been blessed with 2 of the most amazing kids ever, Jordan and Paige.

I was hired as the youth minister here at Old Orchard in the fall of 2005 where I served for 10 years. In 2015 I was called to be the Lead Pastor here and it has been one of the greatest privileges I have ever had. I love this Church and am so humbled at what God has done and is doing in this place.

My desire for this Church is to continue to be a Church where all are truly welcome, a place where anyone can come no matter where they are in the faith and know that they are wanted here. A Church that loves God and His Word and loves people. A Church of people who are committed to praying and serving. A Church that never forgets that we were all once dead in our sin and without Jesus that's where we would have stayed.
I am grateful to be a part of Church and leadership that shares these goals and desires. So that's a little bit about me, now I would love the opportunity to meet you and hear your story and maybe even introduce you to your new Church family!

Children's Ministry
I have been married to my Husband, Tom, for 35 years. We have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. I am a registered nurse in my professional life and I have worked in ministry for over 25 years.
Most of my time has been spent in children’s ministry, though I did spend some time serving alongside my husband in youth ministry for several years.
My heart's desire is to help children build a foundation to grow their faith and ultimately to a complete and full relationship with Christ, loving Jesus and loving others.

Children's Ministry
I am a mom to four kids. I have taught in church and school settings most of my adult life. Also helping in church nursery and classes as a teenager. I also enjoy coaching youth cheerleading and teaching gymnastics too.

Teaching children in the community about the Bible, God, and Jesus is my passion! I currently work as a substitute teacher in the Ashland Schools and in the Kids’ Ministry at Old Orchard.
I can see how God coordinated these two jobs with each other to reach more kids in our area.
Paula Helton Qualls
Church Secretary

My name is Paula Helton Qualls. I grew up in Boyd County. I am a graduate of Boyd County High School, the University of Texas and retired from Ashland Inc. I am mom to two boys and grandma to one plus two fur babies.

I have attended OOCC since early 2018. The many opportunities and ministries here have helped me mature my faith so much more than I knew possible. I have had the honor of being the church secretary for almost two years. I love serving the Lord and especially helping others serve Him in our church and throughout our community. I am so grateful to be a member of OOCC.
